staring . . . where am I screwing up?

So I haven't gotten much sleep the past two nights and I know that is part of the reason I am so hungry. But I'm not sure if I'm screwing up with my menu either. I added a nut serving this morning but it didn't seem to help!

Here's been my menu so far today:

B: soy milk, tomatoes (2 med.) w/vinegar and basil, hb egg, coffee

S: almonds (15)

L: crock pot pulled pork w/spinach in ww pita, cherries

Now it's about 1pm and I'm still starving! My only planned afternoon snack is a yellow bell pepper with hummus. I feel like I've had plenty of food today and can't figure out why I am so darn hungry!

Did you eat enough during lunch? What about having a nice salad right now? You could count it as part of your lunch since its only 1pm?

If sleep is an issue, any chance of taking a nap right now? May help you to focus less on food after getting some needed rest.

Just a thought ot two.

I thought the lunch was enough, but maybe not. It may not have had enough protein. I am at work so the nap is unfortunately not an option. I'm not sure about salad because by now the lunch places have closed up . . .

By the way, apparently I cannot spell (note my subject line!).

Anyhow, I'm on my second diet coke of the day and I already had a huge coffee (half decaf though). I may be overdoing it on the caffeine but it's keeping me full and awake! Still haven't figured out if I can have another snack . . . I have some popcorn here, but I don't know if I want to have another grain serving. May try to hold off . . .

While it certainly couldn't *hurt* to eat a little more - I'd place my bets that the #1 reason you are more hungry is the lack of sleep. That can really affect appetite. I'd go ahead and have an extra snack today just keep yourself going. Chalk it up to the lack of sleep, do what you need to do - then try and get some more rest tonight!

V, you're still keeping up a pretty vigorous exercise schedule, right?

Maggie,

I think you may be right. I got more sleep Friday night but then not enough again Saturday and Sunday. My life has just been way too hectic. I also OD'ed on the carbs yesterday, including some bread that was not appropriate. But my weekends are getting better . . . less cheating and more exercise.

I think I'll go to bed very early tonight and see if that helps!

Thanks for all the advice.
