Advice and answers please?

Hi everyone!! I am counting down until my family leaves for Florida! I have three weeks to finally firm up for my bathing suit!! But i have some random questions(like always!) about exercise and diet. Well firstly, do you think it is possible to lose 6 pounds in 3 weeks? I thought that was pretty logical. Anyway, I hav been doing 30 minutes on my mom's elliptical trainer almost everyday, but the fat won't come off my hips and lower abs!! It won't come off!! I weight train every-other day but i still can't lose this fat!! If i make sure to do at least an hour on the elliptical everyday, and keep up with the weights do you think i can lose those pounds?

For eating, i just started to use olive oil again. I stopped using it for months to save calories, but my food tasted terrible so I started to use it again. Is it ok to use it everyday? Also can i have onion everyday(i use only half when i do have it sauteed for dinner or lunch) Also is it ok to use tomatoe sauce once a day(only 3 tbsp when i do use it)

And lastly, and I know I sound incredibly stupid, but could I please ask you all to hold me accountable to stick firmly not to cheat in these last 3 weeks and make sure i workout everyday? I know in my heart that if i have to come here(which i do everyday) and answer to all of you, i will do it because i dont want to disappoint all of you. Thank you so very much for you support and wonderfulness(if that's a word!) x0x Kerry

I think if you work out everyday and stay away from sauces and stick to phase 2 then you should lose a good 6 pounds. Just think about how great you'll feel in 3 weeks. You made it this far, just keep on going! I lost 4 pounds since last Tuesday and I too work out 30 min a day 4 to 5 x a week. Good Luck!

Kerry,

I am a little concerned with your desire to lose six pounds. I know earlier you have posted that your family became worried that you were losing too much and getting too obsessed with weight loss and you yourself echoed those concerns and were considering seeking some professional help. I am not sure if you have gained weight and want to lose it or if you want to lose an additional six pounds beyond what you have already lost. If you are at a healthy weight right now, it will be extremely difficult to lose six pounds in three weeks, if not impossible. I would recommend doing more weight training to change your shape rather than cut back on your diet, considering your problems in the past. I'm sorry if I am butting in too much but I'm just voicing my concerns!

You are not butting in at all! Right now i weigh 116 pounds at 5'2. and i want to be down to 110 pounds. I know it wont be easy, but i really wanna!! My parents tell me not to lose anymore weight but the thing is i know yhat while im in florida that i will be eating total crap and i think i can compensate for that by making sure i get down to where i really wanna be. x0x Kerry

Kerry,

I understand what you are feeling. I am 5'5" and I weigh 126 right now. My dream is 120, which is six pounds less. However, because of this I also know how difficult it is to lose that last few pounds when you are already in the healthy weight range, as you are. Your body just may not want to get down that low and it will fight you all the way. I have only been able to get to 120 when I have gotten sick or when I cut way back on my calories in an unhealthy way. I am trying to accept that 120 may just not be realistic for me.

You can certainly try, but I would urge you to maintain healthy eating habits and do not eat too little. Try cutting back on nuts, cheese, and oils because they can cause stalls and follow Phase II by the book. I would also considering upping the weight training.

Please try not to be disappointing if these pounds do not come off easily. Just remember that you are being healthy and taking care of your body.

I'm positive that you look great now . . .

Kerry,

Instead of losing too much weight and then eating junk for a week and gaining it back, why not continue the healthy lifestyle you have learned? You are at a healthy weight right now! Eat healthy foods in Florida and don't worry about gaining! Yo-yo dieting is VERY unhealthy, not to mention at bad habit you shouldn't start.
