Phase 2 for a day
| Fri, 07-29-2005 - 12:09am |
I tried moving to Phase 2...for one whole day.
I had 1 slice of multigrain bread with some chicken and cheese for lunch - and all my cravings came back. Later in the day I was like a vacuum, sucking up and eating everything in site. I felt like I had no control.
But the other night I made a serving of whole wheat pasta and was fine.
I went back to Phase 1 way of eating. Could I just not be used to eating some of my old favorites?

I kind of had a simiilar experience--all of a sudden since my cold-cereal "cheat" and move to phase deux, I've been having cravings creep up on me. Personally, I'm just going to eat lots of phase 1 foods and have the steel-cut oatmeal for breakfast, and do that for maybe a few days before I go into full-fledged phase 2...or is that a stupid idea???
Hm.......
Hi Liz,
This is a perfect example of why we monitor for cravings.
Hi Lilyjune,
Yes, it's best to start very slowly when you begin phase 2.
Ok - tried again today. No bread, but whole wheat pasta tonite. No problems.
I don't think I'm eating enough though. I've been feeling kind of nauseous during the day, and after eggs at 7:30 am the thought of eating anything else makes me want to...you know.
Lunch comes about 1:30 pm and I almost have to force myself to eat something - nothing looks good. I work in a hospital, and the only thing SBD friendly is the salad bar - which gets old after a couple days.
I'm not hungry when I get home at 4:30 pm, but usually eat a chicken breast with some stirfry veggies (if I'm imaginative enough to do that).
Maybe it's too much protein early in the day....?

Hi Liz,
If you'd like for us to take a look at your menu, we'd be happy to.
Pregnant?? Oh, dear Lord, I hope not.
I don't really keep a menu or keep track of what I eat every day - I just know what I can and cannot eat.
I gave up last week...and this week too...so far.
Cake, bread, fried food - you name it, I've eaten it.
It seems that the more reasons I have for motivation to stick with it, the less I want to do it. There is a wedding I'm attending in 3 weeks. A day after that is my birthday (29). In 5 weeks I have my class reunion.
I felt great when I was following the program, and lately I've been exhausted.
Any advice about how to stick with it?
