Super Saturday Phase 2 Check in!!

I thought I would start a Check in! I was just watching Celebrity Fit club, and while I don't agree with some of their tactics (you lost 6 lbs. You were supposed to lose 8. You did bad...that sort of thing) I did agree with the benifits of keeping a food diary. So to keep me in check for the weekend, I thought I'd post for today!

Beautiful day in Ohio today! I spent some time in the sunshine!

B - Kashi Blueberry Waffle w/SF Syrup
S - SBD Breakfast Bar
L - Grilled Salmon Fillet, Sauteed vegetables
S - Apple and Peanut butter, SUGARY Ice Cream bar (15g Sugar.)
D - Probably a BIG Salad
D - None, on account of the ice cream bar...
Exercise - went to aerobics, and only myself and the instructor showed up! She's 5 months pregnant, I told her she didn't need to teach just 1 person. I may take the dog for a walk later on, but today could end up being my 1 no-exercise day this week.

I'm still gaining weight, not too happy about that. I'm up 3 lbs from 2 weeks ago, and I just don't understand. I was on my best eating behavior all week. If I'm not back down by next week's weigh in, I'll be pretty discouraged, though. I'm up 1 lb from when I ended Phase 1 last month. I'm not sure where I'm going wrong (I know the sugary ice cream bar wasn't the best move, but that's not a frequent thing for me...)

Hi All,

Stephanie, it's tough I think because you have so little to lose. I'm in the same boat-- only I weigh more than you-- and am frustrated a lot by the lack of losing, gaining random lbs. when I've been mostly good, perpetual stalls, etc. I've only lost 10 lbs. in 5 months and I work out like crazy like you. Are you sure you're not already at your body's goal weight?

CL-Cathy gave me some great advice... basically, she told me that I really need to closely analyze my menu and food choices now. I have to measure every little thing and watch portion sizes now-- *really* only use 2T of salad dressing instead of haphazardly pouring it on my salads... watch for my diet busters (pb, cheese, etc... and for me, I think SF/FF pudding was holding me back?), make sure I'm getting the recommended daily amounts of vegetables, dairy, grains and fruit servings, and really watch every morsel I put in my mouth. I keep a food journal too and I really am good 95% of the time... but I think at this point, that 5% that I'm not good (for me, that's generally the weekends) is squashing my good efforts the rest of the week. Maybe this will help you some.

Here's my day...

B: 1 slice ww toast with smart balance, eggs with cheese, coffee with chocolate soy milk

S: None

L: 1/2 ww flat-out bread with turkey, LF cheese, lettuce and Carb Options ranch dressing; salad with CO ranch dressing

S: Apple with pb

D: Either chicken and vegetables with black beans or a huge salad (we're getting take out)

Dessert: Yogurt parfait with strawberries, SB cereal, and a dab of FF redi-wip

Exercise: 30 minutes elliptical, weight training (triceps, chest, abs)

Have a great weekend!

Thanks for the advice, Kim! Maybe it's the portions, or the choices of foods at this point. I don't think I've reached my body's optimal weight, just because I have a small frame and 5'2". My reason for trying to lose weight is that I carry a lot of body fat around my midsection and thighs. So, size wise, I'm not very big, but I've always been subconscious about my belly. I don't find it realistic to shoot for those Janet Jackson abs, but I would like to get rid of some of that belly fat. Of course the most difficult places to lose, I think!

Weekends are my downfall, as well. I had pizza last night! You know how sometimes you just don't have any control over this stuff. We were going to stop at Wendys and get me a salad so I could skip pizza. Well, we were running late, couldn't stop, and all of a sudden it was 9pm, and I was starving. And what was at arms reach? Pizza. It was SUPER DUPER thin crust and it was a vegy pizza, so I think as far as Pizza goes, it was an okay choice, but the salad would've been much better.

I'm going to heed your advice -- I'm going to start measuring everything, and really do better on my diary. I find that I leave things off. Friday I had some chips and salsa. Granted, I only had 5 chips, but why didn't I write it down? It's hard to go back and find my downfall when I neglect to write it.

Kim, I'm sure you and I will both be able to lose those last 5 lbs! Please keep me posted on your progress!

Thanks a million!
