I've been on the SBD for a couple of weeks and am not an expert, but the Better'n Peanut Butter doesn't really taste that good. I love peanut butter, and this stuff didn't really satisfy me when I wanted peanut butter.

We would really need to see the ingredient list to see if this is SBD friendly. Natural peanut butter has no added sugars and no hydrogenated oils - that's what makes it acceptable for SBD. See if you can postt the list for us.

Thanks,

Well, I make my own peanut butter. I put some peanuts that I purchase (shelled, no salt added), canola oil, and a little sale into a food processor and blend. Voila, peanut butter. I make small amounts because I don't think it has a shelf life of longer than a week or so, but it's delicious. My friends have even told me I should sell it! Just an idea...Gina.

Hi Gina--

You totally made me want to try making my own peanut butter! I wonder if you could give me some idea of the proportions you use--like how much oil to how much peanuts, just so I don't go overboard in either direction.

TIA!

Oh, sure. It's about a cup of peanuts to about 1/8 cup canola oil and about 1 tsp. of salt. I just look at it and if it needs a little more oil I add it and salt to taste. Let me know how you make out. I'm sure you'll be pleased!
