Hi everyone - I haven't checked-in for a few days - things have been crazy here. Looks like we are relocating from CA to Texas - its about 99% sure at this point anyway. Should get more details today. I'm somewhere between panicked and excited, not sure which yet! It will be financially INCREDIBLE for us because the cost of living is so much less, and we have no family ties where we are now anyways. But we will be further from family, and I have NEVER been there, and won't be able to go there before we move to check it out!
My eating hasn't been so great since dh sprang this on me. Nothing bad, just not the right amounts of the good stuff. In fact I haven't even breakfast yet today! Uggh, need to do that now! BUT - I have been at goal weight for about 4 days in a row now, so I guess its official!
Today:
Kashi waffle, turkey bacon
SBD bar, yogurt
leftover blackened salmon, salad
apple w/peanut butter
chicken w/roasted veggies, brown rice
yogurt w/berries

Congratulations on reaching goal, MichaelAnn!
I just read something in the paper over the weekend about an ethnic group that is moving from California to Indiana by the hundreds because the cost of living is so much lower. They talked about couples buying a house and two convenience stores for what they got out of their smaller house in California. I know when someone from one of our offices in California moves back to corporate, it's like getting a huge pay raise. I hope it works out for you!

S - cheese stick
L - white bean chicken chili, small green salad with kidney beans

This diet is working for me, slowly but surely with .5 and 1 pound losses per week. This is the first time I've stuck to a "diet"--pretty much because there's not much of a wagon to fall off of! The first time around on this diet I did a strict phase one for THREE weeks, and then allowed myself ONE new starch for the next two weeks. No wonder I fell off! I slowly got irritated, bored with choices, and hungry. Nowadays, I do not feel restricted whatsoever, any cravings I have I know I can make SB versions of, and if I do have a non-SB meal(which is rare), I just calm down and make up for it the next day with a strict phase 1.5 day.
I think my story is a common one, or many people out there might be tempted to be *strict* which is not the philosophy behind this diet. So, for all the people out there who might be in this position, please add back your darn starches!!!

LOL! I couldn't have said it better - that could be the motto for this board - add back your darn starches!

That's exciting news, MichaelAnn! I wish I had that mobility, but my entire family and my husband's family are right here in my home town. With an ill father, I need to stay close by -- especially as an only child! Cost of living will be much lower than in CA! So that's exciting. So hopefully the panicky feeling will go away and you'll just be excited.

S - Celery and PB
L - Mediterranean Chicken Salad
S - Cottage Cheese
D - Sauteed onions, peppers and mushrooms with a hot pepper sauce on a (eek!) 4 in sub bun.

Exercise - None today, work's got me down in the dumps, so I just can't bring myself to do anything. I give myself 1 day off per week, so I guess today is it!
