Question about guidelines-help!
| Thu, 08-04-2005 - 1:17pm |
In reading responses on this board, I see that the cl's mention to people that they aren't getting their 3 servings of dairy or 4.5 cups of veggies, etc. I have the SBD book but it doesn't have any of these kinds of guidelines, and I find that guidelines really help me. I was wondering if someone could give me a list of what the recommended servings of dairy, fats, protein, dairy, etc are because I have no idea where to find that info! I would really appreciate any help, and I'd love to know how much to eat of each of these catagories. Also, when were these guidelines created? Are they new, or why aren't they in the book? Alright, that's all for now -- thanks!

You can find most of these serving guildelines in the Meal Planning Guide. Here is the one for phase 2 -

You're right - a lot of these exact guildelines are not in the book. They are from the "official" South Beach Diet paid website. Maggie and Cathy are members and post updates and additional information from there to us here. Quite a bit has been changed/added/updated since the original book. Also the website has nutritionalist who answer questions (like reviewing a specific brand or certain product) And they go into more detail with recommendations for exact serving sizes and portions that the book didn't really go into.
But check out the Meal Planning Guide - that should help!

Hi Cassie, don't worry about apologizing for asking questions!
Hi Cassie,
It sounds like you missed the "Getting Started" thread when you started.
