I have been one week on phase 2 coincidentally with my weird period (week ahead of spotting, and finally a heavy, heavy period). The thing is I've gained back all the lbs lost!! (5 total) why?? Is it the period?
I have PCOS with insulin resistance, and due to my lack of regularity in my cycles my doctor want's to put me on the pill: Diane-35. Has anyone else taken this pill?

HI there-Just wanted to say hi and boy I know where you are coming from. I also have PCOS with insulin resistance. Do you take glucophage? I do and it has helped. I haven't tried the Diane but took the orth tricyclen for 8 yrs and for the past 2 1/2 mo. been taking ovcon and seem to be doing better than the other one. But I have the wacko periods but toss it up to my age (43) and the many yrs. of suffering with this crap. I will tell you that the diet is great for us, although I am frustrated but I keep plugging along and work out like crazy-that helps with symptoms and keeps appetite in check. I eat alot of oats and yogurt since the meds tear my stomach up. I was misdiagnosed for like 10 yrs and am paying the price with cholesterol, etc, I am on meds for that too and keep everything in check with the eating and working out.I now only have to see the endo once a yr so I am thrilled about that as I used to see him every few mo. when things were real bad! My goal more than weight loss is to get off of the stuff. People are taken aback when I tell them how much I weigh. I was a size 24 way back now a 14-16 so that is a plus anyway. Shooting for a 12 and realistic 130'ish-used to be 120-125 back in the day................lucky if I make it to 150! My weight goes down and back up but stable so I wish I had answers for you-hang in there! Take care and best of luck to you!

HI there!

I have not used the Diane pill, but I am also a PCO'er and there are many of us here. After losing the weight I have so far, my periods are pretty much regular (used to be 3-4 times a year, now about every 30-45 days). There's a site for PCOS women called Soul Cysters http://www.soulcysters.com/ I was active there several years ago, and many (at least at that time) women are going through much of the same things, and, although nothing compares to this board :D :D :D there is much support and info available there.

Good luck with the beach and with figuring out what meds work for you. I am betting that the longer you eat healthy, the less your problems with PCOS will be. If you have any Q's, please feel free to email me!
