Small improvement

Well, I did a bit better this past weekend. I cheated much less . . . only had a couple pieces of naan while out for Indian food and ate some cereal that I think may not have had quite enough fiber and a little too much sugar. But not bad. I still ate more grains than I should have and not enough veggies but it's a never-ending struggle when I'm at my boyfriend's place and do not have my own food. I can't bring food with me because he lives far away and I drive up from work and I can't really afford to restock his fridge every weekend. So I wasn't perfect, but improving definitely. Of course I was still up two pounds on Monday! How is that possible? I'm back down one today. Also thinking that maybe I gained a pound of muscle. I weigh one pound more than I did earlier this year but I'm working out more and eating basically the same. This is the only explanation I can come up with . . . my measurements are the same. Still would love to get down to 122 or 123 someday!

Glad to hear the weekends are improving for you, V!
Hi,
All the small improvements will start to add up.
I'm still having a hard time with weekends. I'm not going to get into it, but let's just say there were brownies involved...

Stephanie,
I relate to the love of baking. I still bake things for people at work even though I am not supposed to eat them myself. Usually I allow myself one and take the rest into work. It satisifies my baking urge and keeps me from eating the whole batch! In fact, I am planning to bake cookies and brownies this coming weekend . . .
I think it's good to realize where your weaknesses are and that it is a slow process. I improved a bit one weekend but I still struggled and I was nowhere near perfect. I would suggest doing it slowly. Try eating only Phase II on Saturday and allow yourself to slip a little on Sunday or vice versa. That would be a good way to work up to better weekends.
We will support each other!

That's a great point -- even allowing 1 slip up would be a big improvement over my many slipups for recent weekends. There's not much going on for me over the next 3 weekends, but 1 month from now is my brother-in-law's wedding, and I WILL have a piece of cake at his wedding. I'll probably also have red potatoes. But maybe knowing that I get such good stuff in 1 month will keep me on my best behavior over the weeks between now and then.
Keep me posted on how you do this week and weekend! You're almost at your goal! Weekends can make all the difference! I'm up 1 lb, but it's my TOM, so I am not taking it too hard.
