Plateau Broken!

Some of you may remember that I started a post a couple of weeks ago looking for some help in breaking my 5 week plateau. Well, I just hopped on the scale and I am down 2 pounds!

I had joined the South Beach Online site a couple of weeks ago and took advantage of the personal coach they offer. He suggested, that even though my menus are within the acceptable guidelines, that I may want to reduce some of the traditionally high fat (but good fat) things such as nuts and cheese. He suggested adding in another fruit as a snack and avoiding the nuts. He didn't say rule them out completely, but rather, to avoid them if possible. The menu changes that I made were very minor, but I'm sure they contributed to the plateau break. I had plain scrambled eggs in the morning, without the cheese that I typically had. I had a yogurt and fruit as a mid-morning snack. Instead of having a salad with gorganzola or a ceasar salad, I had a regular salad with a healthy amount of low fat protein. I would have normally had a seltzer and some nuts for a quick afternoon snack and changed that to a fruit.

He also suggested that, even though wine is perfectly legal, that I limit it (for the time being) to one glass a week. To be honest, I did that last week but had a glass 3 nights this week.

Hope this helps those of you that are experiencing a frustrating plateau!

Thanks for sharing this information with us! And congrats on breaking your plateau; it seems to be a common theme this weekend :) Whether we are at a plateau or not losing fast enough, these are great tips that everyone can use at some point.

Keep up the good work!
