What's the best "bad" choice?

I think this has happened to all of us...I don't consider this a cheat, or a treat, but a bad choice out of necessity, and I think we've all been there. I really wanted to eat something SBD-friendly, but it just couldn't happen...

Today I worked out 1 hour, then I drove 40 mintutes to my husband's softball game. By the ride home, I was SO hungry that I started to feel sick, and dizzy, and downright crappy. I knew I had to eat something, but my only option was a fast food stop, and I was driving, so I had to get something I could eat and drive.

So I stopped at McDonald's. I know the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad would've been the best choice, but again, I was driving. What's a girl to do??

I couldn't decide between a hamburger (the little one), a Grilled Chicken Sandwich, or Chicken Nuggets. What would've been the lesser of the evils?

Some help on what would've been best would be GREAT to know, as I'm sure this is going to happen again someday. It would've been nice to have had SBD Breakfast Bars on hand -- live and learn, I guess!

I don't eat McDonalds AT ALL anymore, but I would have chosen the grilled chicken and used the bun as a "handle" and tossed it later.

Hi Stephanie,

You're right...I've found myself in this same position.

SRT,

I'm heading up north for a few days, and I know fast food will be gotten while traveling. I never thought of using the bun as a handle for the chicken sandwich -- I just eat it because it's hard to eat the chicken otherwise. Thanks for the great idea!

I can't take credit for the idea...it's Cathy's...

Because I have vowed to NEVER set foot in a fast food chain ever again, so I have no need for this trick..

Yeah, sounds like I made the wrong decision, but it could've been MUCH worse! I'm not going to lie and say I'm NEVER going to go to another fast food restaurant -- in my case it's going to happen. But I didn't get the Chicken Sandwich because I thought it would be too hard to drive and eat without the bun. I hadn't thought of the bun-handle idea, and in retrospect if I'd known that, I'd have gotten the chicken sandwich.

I got the 5 piece nuggets, and it wasn't enough. I came home, ate some pudding and drank some skim milk, but those empty stomach pains came back, and I felt sick all night long. I tried to eat a Kashi Waffle for breakfast, but only managed to choke down half of it. Once it hit my stomach, I felt all better! But now I'm hungry again, so I've really messed things up, so I think a BIG SBD-friendly dinner is in order!

Thanks for the help everyone! Next time I'm in a crunch for time I'll either have SBD breakfast bars on hand, or I'll try the bun-handle thing.
