Went overboard on treats.

I am disappointed in myself. I've been away from home for the whole summer and on Thursday a friend from home came to visit me, and I ended up "treating" too much. On Thursday night, I had a 1/2 piece of extremely rich chocolate cake. Then on Sunday I had an ice cream cone with my friend, and on Monday I had another ice cream cone and some cookies with my family. Then yesterday I ended up sharing popcorn with my brother at the movies. All this cheating is making me feel guilty and gross, and I just need some encouragement to get back on track. I am determined to be strict again, but it's so hard! For the first two months of doing this diet, my mom did it with me (well, not really South Beach, but her own personal diet) and so it was easy to be good because we never went out to ice cream or had dessert around the house. Now, though, for whatever reason she has decided to "take some time off", which for her means eating everything in sight for a week or so, and so she's been going out to ice cream, buying candy and cake and cookies, and even encouraging me to eat the junk with her. For the most part, I've resisted (I know it seems like I certainly cheated a lot, and I did, but not nearly as much as I could have!). No one else around me is doing any kind of diet or healthy eating so it's getting hard to have self-control. I haven't weighed myself since Saturday so I don't know how big a problem the ice cream caused. I'll find out today (AH!). Any encouragement to get back on the wagon would be wonderful! Thanks so much,
-Cassie

Hi Cassie,
((Hugs)) You know the drill.
I just went thru almost the same thing! Since friday I've completly fallen of the wagon!! I hated it....you really feel gross. Today I went back to phase 1, but only till saturday...thenk I'm returning to a well planned phase 2. (I wrote in general questions with the subject: messed up)
Good luck!!
P.S. How much do you need to loose?
Cathy-
Thanks for the encouragement! I've gotten back on track and feel fine, I was just having a bit of a panic before. About my mom...she realizes that she has some major issues with food, and we've talked about it before. She actually goes to a psychologist for no particular reason but just to talk about things, and she said that she'll bring up her issues with food when she gets home and sees him again. I'm glad that she realizes she isn't being healthy. She has finally acknowledged that I'm doing this the healthy way, and she's reading the South Beach book again so that she can begin a healthy diet. Thanks for caring!
And to moonlite45-I have thus far lost 12 pounds and I need to lose 14 or so more.

Cassie,
She has finally acknowledged that I'm doing this the healthy way, and she's reading the South Beach book again so that she can begin a healthy diet.
That's awesome!
Cassie, you have so much clarity and wisdom for such a young person!
