I need some advice!!

I'm going on a date tonight to a carnival, and it looks like we're going to be there during what would be suppertime.

My plan was to eat before I go, but that would be at 4:30pm, and since we'll be at the carnival until about 11pm, I'll probably need to eat at some point!!

What the heck would be ok to eat?! I really don't want to be the "annoying" (albeit practical) girl who pulls out carrots from her purse while her date scarfs on a burger, but I don't want to jeopardize 18 days of no-cheating!!

HELP!!

I really would eat beforehand. I would bring snacks and only eat if I could find something remotely healthy. Who cares what other people think?

Then if you still have room, splurge on one REALLY good food.

Hmmm...some carnivals have turkey legs. Could you have one of those? What about a grilled chicken sandwich and accidentally "drop" the bun on the ground! lol :)

Have fun!

The grilled chicken sandwich option sounds like your best choice.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!!

My plan, as of this point, is to quickly eat beforehand (I'm going almost right after work). I should be fine with some diet coke (that usually tides me over), and maybe some carrots snuck into my purse.

If I end up getting hungry, I'm going to hunt for a Greek food tent. Lots of the big local Vancouver restaurants have booths at the fair (it's a really, really big fair), and I might be able to find a chicken skewer or a Greek salad if I need to. It's resisting those darn, freshly-baked mini-donuts that has me worried! They're one of my biggest weaknesses. I guess this'll be a good test of my will power! ;)

Regardless, I'm sure it will be a fun night! I'll be sure to let you all know how it goes!!

Thanks again!

Cheers,
Stef

If the "carnival" you are referring to is the PNE and if the PNE is anything like the CNE in Toronto, you will be able to find a Greek place with salad and chicken souvlaki quite easily.

Yeah, it's one and the same.

I just had a look at their website, and they definitely have a Greek tent.

So all is good! Sorry for the needless panic!
