What Am I Doing Wrong?
| Fri, 09-02-2005 - 7:46pm |
I've been on SBD for a month now. I lost 3 lbs. in the first two weeks of Phase I and have not lost a pound since! I'm 44 and going through perimenopause, however, I also am working out 3-4 times a week at Curves. I'll find out soon if my measurements have changed any, but the scale just doesn't seem to want to move anymore. I don't have to tell you how hard it is to be good all the time with no results!
My thyroid was tested and its okay. I would love to hear from others in a similar situation. Should I reduce my portions of protein (meat and fish)? Should I skip meals if I'm not really hungry (I do eat sometimes when I'm not hungry).
Thanks.

Its probably a good idea to look at your menu to see if it needs any tweeking. Post a sample menu & we could take a look.
Would definately recommend *NOT* skipping meals as this give your body signals to "conserve" fat & halt weight loss. Its your body's defense acting in "starvation" mode hanging onto every bit of fat.

Hi,
It's so hard to keep going when you're not seeing results.
Cathy,
Thanks for your reply. It is always nice to hear from someone who is in the same situation. But I do have good news. I went to Curves Friday for my weigh and measure - its been a month both on SBD and Curves. Even though here I was down in the dumps over my measly weight loss, they made me feel like a star. I lost a total of 3 1/2 pounds, but the important part: 2% lower body fat!
I guess I can expect that my weight loss will slow down from here, since I did not experience the typical fast loss in Phase I. Can I ask, before your one year stall, how much weight had you lost and how long did it take? I realize everyone is different, but you seem to be similar to me in some ways. Did you have a great deal to lose or not?
Thanks for your support....
Hi,
Congratulations.
