Baby Boomer on board. It only took 30 minutes to enroll, but I hung in there. I think I emailed myself numerous times. Oh Well. Tomorrow (9/9) makes 2 weeks on South Beach. I will tread lightly to the scales and weight. So far, 4 lbs. lighter, 16 to go. My daughter has convinced me to get on this board for some fun, encouragement, and great receipes. I must say this though....I USED to like broccoli and those little aluminum muffin pans for those egg deals went sailing across my kitchen in the garbage can. How many egg muffins can 1 person eat in a day? After my first few days of no sugar, laughing cow cheese was nothing to laugh about. I need some helpful hints. I started on phase 2 only because I couldn't start on phase 3. Where is phase 4? Looking forward to chatting with you all. :-)

Hi!! Welcome onboard! I'm so glad that you managed to get yourself enrolled! I never thought I would see the day where my mom actually decided to post on a message board! WTG...(that means WAY TO GO)

We can do this together! I am committed and you will find that this board offers alot of what you are looking for. The CL's (community leaders) are very friendly and knowledgeable about the SBD.

Oh, and your post made me LOL! (that's laugh out loud)

You'll get the hang of it soon!

:)

Make sure you check out the recipes section. That's definitely been a huge bonus. I plan my weeks meals based off what others on the beach are eating.

Your post made me laugh. :)

Why don't you have a turkey sandwich for breakfast? Or a smoothie? Or something else other than egg muffins? (The thought of them makes me nauseous.)

Do you like peanut butter? One of my favorite snacks is plain ff yogurt with splenda and natural peanut butter. It could work for breakfast, too.

What do you usually eat? Some things can be tinkered with to make them more South Beach - friendly.

Take care.

Thanks for the good ideas. I love turkey and never would have thought about having it for breakfast. I am glad to know I am not the only one who got really tired of egg muffins. I have found that Smart Balance peanut butter is delicious! I have it with a granny smith apple. I guess I just have to use my imagination on what I like and whats healthy. Maybe I was laying down to many rules. I just found out tonight I can have a Go Lean waffle:-) Thanks again....

Thanks for your reply. I am VERY happy that Natalie is doing this with me. I thought I would run this by you though. I am d-r-a-g-g-i-n-g. No energy. Also, please give me a few pointers on what to drink besides water. Also NO ASPERTANE i.e. diet drinks. Glad I gave alittle chuckle to your morning. THanks for being there. sugar_less

Thanks so much for all the helpful info. Everyone has been great. I am now making omlettes and getting ready to make smoothies. You have been doing this awhile, huh? This past Friday (my 2-week) 0 weight loss. Kind of discouraging but I am not going to quit now. I find that I am wanting something good to drink and can't find anything, that's why I am looking forward to smoothies. Thanks for the links as well. sugar_less:-)

Hi,

It's really common to feel tired in the beginning.

SL,

Enjoy the turkey sandwiches. They keep me going (as I drive around and around trying to find a stinking parking spot).

As for what to drink... Starbucks has passion iced tea, which is unsweetened, but is naturally really sweet. You can make it at home, with the passion tea bags... they're herbal. Also, will you use Splenda/sucralose? If so, a lot of drinks are being made with that instead of aspartame, so you might want to check out the label of some of the flavored waters.

A lot of people here drink V8; I don't have that much nerve. Maybe a bloody mary to start off the day? ha ha
