I've re-set my goal weight!

I've always thought my goal weight would be 125 lbs but lately I have decided that my body likes my current weight! So I guess my body "set" itself :)

I'm 131 lbs & wearing a size 6 & I think I look great! Everyone comments on how good I look & what a difference there is with my body! Its a *great* feeling! To be "official" now, I've changed my goal to 130 lbs . . . only 1 more pound to go! :)

It feels really good not to be "focusing" on the scale. Sure, the numbers still important to me but I've learned its not *the* most important factor. I've come a long way baby! Mentally & physically, I'm a different person now!

Here's to the last pound to go! Almost there!

Doreen, your an inspiration to us all!!!! Your weight starting is almost what mine was, I was at 181 really 183 before ever starting SB. Im at 172 right now and cant seem to budge the scales and my clothes are still the same. I have been doing this since June 4th 2005 over 3 months now, I was hoping to lose a little faster than this. Im 39 and already going through the change according to my OB-GYN last year. I guess this could be another thing that is slowing me down. :( I'M thinking about trying that Zalestra to see if it makes any changes, but I want to wait to see what my doc says about it. I've already added 3 miles a day to my exercise program last week hoping it will do something. I get so discouraged not losing though. I will never stop eating this way, even though I am not losing, seems like it will have to start coming off sometimes. I just love your stats and you are a true inspiration... :) When did you start doing SB? I know you have probably told us a thousand times but I forget...

Congratulation Doreen on setting a new goal weight. Thats wonderful that your feeling ok about it.I agree 131 is a healthy weight.I want to be 130 like I was 15years ago,but now its un=doable for me. I switched my goal twice, being 5'3" my doctor suggested a goal weight of 145 as I have very large frame. Than he decided that 140 would be better as that would bring my BMI to a healthy 24. Again big congrats and thanks for motovation Hugs Maryann

Wow, Doreen! You have done a great job! I was looking at your numbers and thinking that you truly must look and feel like a different person.

Regarding setting a goal....I had that discussion with my doctor this past summer. I weigh between 123 and 125. I originally wanted to get down to 115 (I'm 5'3") since I weighed this just a few years ago. My doctor feels this is an unrealistic goal for me, given my age (48) and the fact that I am very healthy and all my "numbers" look great. He said that your body reaches a set point (like you said, it sets itself) and that if you go below that, it will affect your immune system and you will start getting sick because you will not be able to handle the germs coming at you. He said as long as you're not more than 10 lbs. over your high school graduation weight, then you're ok. (However, I would STILL like to get down to 120, lol.)

So, in short, you made the right decision. After all, it's not the number on the scale that counts, but rather lifestyle and how you look and feel.

Great job!!!!

10lbs over high school weight is healthy?? How about unrealistic?? I weighed 100lbs in HS at 5'4" and there is NO WAY I should weigh 110 now. I look really good and also healthy at 125. If I weighed 110 it would be because I was starving myself.
I'm not arguing with you hope2bhappy, but rather what the dr. said. How old is that dr?

Doreen, you're weight loss is really an inspiration. You've done an awesome job! *clapping for you*.

I know, I think I weighed about 102 when I graduated hs and now I weigh about 125. I just took it as a generalization. The doctor was probably 40 at best. And a little chunky, lol.
