There's a new kind of precooked brown rice being marketed that's SBD approved. It should be a help to those who find verrry long cooking brown rice inconvenient to use at those times you don't have a lot of time to prepare your rice ahead!
From the official SBD site, Ask The Nutritionists:
There is a new type of rice package called "Uncle Ben's Ready Rice". I got the one that says whole grain brown rice. I know it says whole grain, but it tastes so good, I'm skeptical. It says it has whole grain precooked brown rice, water, canola oil, and acetylated monoglyceride. It says a serving is 1 cup/220 calories. Can I have this on south beach?

Hello Pattie,
I am a South Beach Diet coach and I can help you. This product is fine for phase 2. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Note from me: 1/2 cup of cooked brown rice equals one grain/starch serving for Phase 2 & 3.
