I have HORRIBLE side effects from Nutra Sweet but have found that Splenda doesn't bother me that much. Where can I get a list of things that contain Splenda?? I checked their website but it wasn't much help.

I checked out quite a few sites and did a google search and can't seem to find a list of foods that contain Splenda.

Be sure to look for Sucralose, not splenda necessarily. Manufacturers will generally use it as sucralose. Same as "equal" is aspartame.

But my suggestion is to use even this sparingly. If you are allergice to equal you can develop the same for sucralose. learn to like your food less sweet. That is my soapbox for the night. Yes, I use splenda. But pretty much only in my yogurt. I've learned to eat oatmeal and other stuff without sweetner. It seems to have helped me to not 'like' sweets at all as much!

Just wanted to pipe in regarding what Kim said.

I don't use Splenda in much of anything. And when I do, I use very little. If I were to use the recommended amount noted in many recipes, the result would be way too sweet.

I've found that not sweetening things, even with artificial sweeteners, helps me to not want more sweet things.

Also, I'm not totally sold-out on using artificial sweeteners, so skipping the sweet stuff entirely is my way of handling that, too.

Hi Sarabeth,

There are many personal opinions on artificial sweeteners, but I wanted you to know that Splenda is fully approved and is fine to use on South Beach - no limits.
