Are garden burgers counted as a starch serving? I know they have brown rice and rolled oats in them but I didn't know if it was enough to make up a whole starch serving. If anyone has the offical word on that I would be most appreciative!

Hi Nili -

You probably missed it - but Cathy answered in the check-in thread that Gardenburgers are counted as a "protien" on SB. I have often wondered this myself, but didn't want to ask because I was afraid of the answer! A lot of other diets consider them a carb or starch. But I've always just counted them as a protien and never had a problem. My favorite lunch is a Gardenburger w/reduced fat provolone on a ww pita (I mix together some mayo, sf ketchup and sf relish to make a 1000 Island dressing and put that on it - YUM!)

Thanks MichaelAnn! I did miss the other post. I love having a garden burger on a piece of whole grain bread with lots of salad veggies and bleu cheese dressing. It's such a yummy lunch! I'm glad I don't have to count it towards my starch! Thanks again!
