I'm on the downside of P1 and have a P2 question. Are the new Sonic Drive In smoothies that I've seen advertised allowed? Just wondering and would appreciate any input.

I checked Sonic's website and they don't have the nutrition facts posted for these, but this is the description for them...

There are many things to like about the new Real Fruit Smoothies from SONIC. For instance, they are fat-free. They are made with real fruit and yogurt. They contain 100% of your daily allowance of vitamins A, C and E.

It doesn't say anywhere in them that they're sugar free so I would guess they're not which would make them a no-no.

Hey guys!!
In my week without a kitchen I ate ALOT of Sonic, I do not want to see another one of their salads for awhile. But, as I waited I read their advertisement for the smoothies they are supposed to be made with nonfat yogurt and fresh fruit. In small print they say that they use artifcial coconut flavoring( most likely the syrup they use in sodas) . I'm not an expert on SBD but I think bananas are very limited. The only smoothie that I believe will be good for SBD is the strawberry one. Just ask a car hop if they use fresh strawberries and not the frozen ones in syrup. I hope they are legal because they would make a quick snack.

Good Luck,
Samantha

We can't know at all for sure until we get the complete nutritional facts on this.

And, don't forget that you can make your own smoothies at home.

Another problem with the Sonic smoothies could be fruit juice. They could use 100% fruit juice and still call them made with "real fruit" Most smoothies have juice in them - which is a SBD no-no. At my gym for example, all their smoothies are made with fruit juice, but luckily you can choose to substitute the fruit juice with Crystal Light.
