I have been semi off the beach since about Thanksgiving. I haven't gone hog wild or anything, but I just haven't been paying attention. Fortunately, I've kept enough control to only gain back 3 lbs. or so. I haven't checked in the last week, but up to that point, even though I feel like I've gained weight, I was always surprised when I stood on the scale and it was the same, or only up a couple of pounds. Definitely, though, I'm losing the tone that I was starting to see.

My big problem seems to be sweets. I don't miss the white bread and I'm eating ww pita and brown rice, triscuits, etc. However, I find myself doing stupid things like finishing up a french toast stick off of my kids' breakfast plates, popping a peanut butter ball in my mouth just because it's sitting there, etc. Starting today, I'm going to post my menu each day, which will hopefully keep me honest and make me think twice before mindlessly sticking something in my mouth.

B - fruit smoothie (strawberries, Splenda, NF plain yogurt, ice)

S - 7 Triscuits, lite cream cheese

L - big salad with lots of veggies, crab, sunflower seeds, feta, BV

S - none (lunch was late)

D - dolmathes (grape leaves stuffed with brown rice and ground sirloin), roasted broccoli, side salad

S - another smoothie

Wish me luck! I'll be back to post in the morning!

Lora,

Nice to see you again!

If you can't pass up the foods your kids are eating, why not make them South Beach friendly? Make french toast with whole grain bread and sf syrup - the kids may not know the difference. Not sure what a peanut butter ball is, but I am sure if you gave us the recipe, we could make it SBD friendly.

Be sure to get your sweet treats each day - that may help. I have found a creative way to get 2 sweet treats in. If I need something midday, I mix cottage cheese with sf red raspberry jelly. One tablespoon only has 10 calories. So I know I can have another sweet treat (under 90 calories) later if I need it.

Your menu looks good. Just make sure you get 4.5 cups of veggies.

Good luck!

Hi Lora,

Why not start a journal down in the support folder.
