I gained back the 6 pounds that I lost in phase 1. I work out 6 (around 40-50 minutes of stregnth training and 30-40 minutes of cardio) days a week and I know I am eating everything to a T!!! Really getting frustrated. Here is a sample of what I eat in a day (this was yesterday)

B: 1 slice of broccoli and reduced fat swiss crustless quiche

S: 1 part skim mozzarella stick and small apple

L: 1 boneless skinless chicken breast baked with reduced fat feta, and 1 cup roasted broccoli.

S: Baby carrots and light ranch

D: 1 1/2 cups of Whole wheat pasta with ham and peas (recipe from South Beach Quick and easy)

S: 1 cup of frozen grapes

HELP this is only my second week of phase 2.

What about your 2-3 servings of dairy?

Plus I *think* in your first 2 weeks on phase 2, you are allowed only 1/2 cup of pasta (1 starch serving) and 1 fruit serving.........I see you had 2 fruit servings, and 3 starch servings.........

Just a thought but I'll turn it over to Karen, Cathy and Maggie.......

Sorry you are frustrated!! I'm pulling for you!!

Stacy,

When did you last weigh in and how often have weighed in over the last week? Is your weigh in always as the same time of day? Is it your TOM? I am wondering if the 6 pounds is just a temporary one day thing. Our boides can play awful tricks on us!

Either way, stalls

Stacy,

Shannon's right. You are missing dairy, and maybe you started off too fast with the grains and fruits. I would re-start Phase 2 and have only 1 fruit and 1 grain for a day or two and then start to add more.

It was only 1/2 cup of the pasta and 1 cup of the ham and peas portion (1 1/2 cups total).

Dr. A addressed plateaus in one of the chats he did a while back. Here is a part of it that somewhat applies to your recent gain.

"Please remember that slower weight loss is more permanent weight loss and that rapid weight loss can lead to yo-yo dieting. Also remember that plateaus may be caused by water weight shifts as well as changes in activity levels and calorie intake.

Well I know it cant be working out. I work out 2x a day most days morning stregnth training and evening cardio. I switch up my program every two weeks so my body doesnt get used to it. I usually get 70-80 minutes of working out a day. The only thing I could think of is water retension. My doctor told me people with type 2 diabetes are more likely to have water retension issues she even offered a water pill which I declined because of a previous eating disorder I had. Im trying to do this the right way, the healthy way. But its hard not to get discouraged when my dh has only changed the way he eats with lunch and dinner and has dropped 15lbs!!! Now I know they say that men carry more muscle and burn fat easier but my dh hasnt worked out a day in his life and I do 6 days a week. Im just very frustrated.
