Question on fruit

I am beginning week 3 on phase two today and have gradually added in my starches.  Today was the third time I tried to add fruit and all afternoon I have been nauseous.  It happened Saturday when I added a banana and last Monday when I had an apple.  Today I had an orange.  If any one has any tips or info I would appreciate any help.

Hi Samantha,

I'm sorry. I've never heard of this happening before.

Ok so I posted a recent question on fruit but didn't really explain my reasoning for not enjoying fruit - I also feel nauseous when I eat it (although in my case it has always been that way, not just since starting SBD). I have found that it helps if I have something else with it (cheese or crackers seem to be the best so far), but I'm still not sure if I will be able to include 2 or 3 pieces per day!

I'm not a big fruit eater either. I don't like the feeling of all of that sugar sitting on my stomach (even as a kid I didn't eat much fruit), and in the case of apples, I actually become ill if I eat them. I just found out my dad is the same way, and he told me as long as the apples are peeled he can tolerate them, but that a lot of people have problems eating the apple peel. I don't have much advice for any other fruits, though! As long as I have a piece of cheese with them or eat them in yogurt, I've been tolerating them so far.

From what you're telling us, it seems that carb competitors can be really helpful when eating fruit.
