Does oatmeal need a carb competitor?

I start on phase 2 tomorrow. All this talk of oatmeal is getting me excited to have some! I see some of you eat peanut beutter with your oatmeal....I'm not quite ready for that yet, but it does need a carb competitor, right? Putting milk in it wouldn't count? It seems that I am better off putting some Benecol in my oatmeal. Is this right?

Hi thinkpink,

Another delicious way to add carb competitors to your oatmeal is to add chopped nuts!

I have been eating celery sticks w/PB most AMs. For me it's a great substitute for toast. I kind of hate losing my nut allowance first thing in the day, but although I've grown weary of eggs, I don't feel the same about the celery w/PB so it's helping me stay motivated.

That sounds like a great way to start the morning.

Thanks so much! The CL's on this board are amazing. You guys are a wealth of knowledge. BTW, I had an egg with my oatmeal this AM--I had not yet gotten any replies. Tomorrow I'm going to try a slice of turkey bacon :)

South Beach Diet swiss cheese spread? I haven't heard of this one but I look forward to trying it when I find it!

I, too, love love love PB & celery! One of my fav's!

Doreen, the SBD spread is right next to the Laughing Cow, in the same exact size and shape container.
