What do you bring to work?

I tend to bring a lot of foods with me to work, for lunch and snacks during the day. I have an hour drive each way, so if I don't eat something before going home, I end up ravenous, which is never a happy equation since I sometimes have portion control issues. ;)

I usually eat breakfast around 6-6:30 AM, snack at 10:00 AM, lunch 1:30 PM, snack again 3:30 or 4 PM, and then dinner around 7. I try not to eat after dinner, but I do include a dessert and/or snack with "dinner" to make sure I get enough to eat during the day.

Here's what I usually bring with me: (I pick and choose whatever sounds best at the time, and don't eat it all in the same day.

Chopped raw rutabaga
Sliced raw yellow or green squash
Sliced raw green pepper
Sliced raw cucumber
Raw radishes
Chopped raw broccoli
Roasted chick peas with cajun spice
Sliced raw mushrooms
Sugar-free jello
Lite yogurt
Little chunks of 2% cheddar or colby
Lean slices of deli ham or turkey (smoked)
Little bag of peanuts in the shell
Tuna or chicken salad with walnuts stuffed in celery
Grape tomatoes

Now that I'm on Phase II, I also bring an occasional apple, tangerine or pear. Today I've actually got half a tuna-melt (on half a whole-grain english muffin, with low-fat cheese) for an extra treat.

My at-home treats for snacking are chick peas, rutabaga, homemade low-fat bean soup (either soup or just the broth), and various creations with ricotta cheese. Oh, and my new favorite dessert is 1/2 cup low-fat ricotta, 3 strawberries diced up, and half a packet of Equal. Mix well, and drizzle lightly with sugar-free chocolate syrup. Optional: A few slivered almonds. Mmmm!

Anyone else want to share what you bring with you to eat? Or snack on at home? I'm always interested in new ideas.

Awesome! Thanks. I included my vegeterian 18-bean chili recipe on my post this morning ("Don't think I'm eating enough...") -- I love crockpot chili!! :) And ANY new recipes, lol.

Another snack idea:

take a mozzarella cheese stick, sprinkle with Italian seasoning and a little garlic powder and broil in toaster oven -- yummy!!

If you love crockpot recipes, you should try the unstuffed cabbage recipe. It's awesome!
