Moving on to Phase 2

I am ready to move to phase 2 on Monday as it will be 3 weeks since I started SBD phase 1. I know that it is not recommended to stay on phase 1 more than 2 weeks, but before I started I was stuck in a very long period of "bad" eating and I wanted to make sure that I get out of it with no cravings. I am glad to say that the cravings are under control now and I am ready to move on. As of this morning I have lost no pounds since Sunday (last day of week 2) but my clothes continue to fit better everyday, so I am very motivated.

I thought that I would post a sample menu just to make sure that I go into phase 2 with a solid understanding:

Breakfast
1 cup Feber One Cereal with 1 cup skim milk
2 pieces Canadian Bacon
Coffee with 2 tbs ff half&half and 1/4 cup skim milk

Snack
1 cup ff yogurt with 2 tbs natural peanut butter

Lunch
Grilled chicken over lettuce, tomato, broccoli and ff/sf balsamic dressing
1/3 cup black beans
sf jello

Snack
2 slices ff turkey breast wrapped in lettuce and mustard
1 apple

Dinner
Grilled beef with mixed vegetable (eggplant, squash, red peppers etc...)
sf fudgesickle

Thanks

Mmmmm! Looks good!

I don't know how sensitive you are to fruits/cereals, but monitor yourself on those first few days of cereal for breakfast. I doubt that the Fiber One would cause cravings, though. I do much better if I have a 'low-carb' breakfast and eat my fruits and grains at a different time of day. But I'm on the super-sensitive end of the spectrum.

You're gonna love P2!

Thanks! I'll try it out and if I get back some cravings I will move the cereal down to later on in the day. I was even thinking of making the apple my after dinner dessert. I know that I'll have to play around a bit.

Maggie,

Thanks for checking up on me! I had my Fiber One cereal this morning and I can't believe that it tastes this good. I guess I was expecting something really gross since it has so much fiber, but it was sweet. It actually prompted me to look again at the nutritional information just in case I got the wrong kind. But sure enough, it had 0g of sugar per serving. It was very satisfying and very tasty. One question: I had a cup of the cereal when the serving information was based on 1/2 cup. How much is OK to have?

Thanks.

One ounce/30 grams equals one SBD serving of cereal or bread.

Banoor, I don't know if you realize it but Fiber One has aspartame (equal) in it. You probably realize that is why it tastes 'sweet' or at least sweeter than the non sweetened (even artificially) cereals.

I mention this in case you are sensitive to aspartame. Some people get migraines from aspartame.

Since I get migraines from aspartame I stick to AllBran even though it has slightly fewer g of fiber.

good luck in Phase 2!

Kim

Thanks Kim. I guess I'll have to see how it goes. So far no problems after today's breakfast. But thanks for the info.
