Hello everyone,

There r alot of things going on. First i really want to lose weight , i was losing 1 lb a week b4 going on vacation then i started over i,m now in 1st week of p2. i lost 3 1/2 lbs in p1 this week i still have to weigh myself but i am thinking i haven,t lost anything .
i really have to lost weight coz otherwise i might have hernia again ( had surgeries 3 times b4) . and its so hard to do so , i,m dep coz of the cold weather . i don,t feel like doing anything . hubby is busy i hardly see him, and they all eat (hubby and kids) what they want
.

Hey, here's a {{{BIG HIG}}}}. It seems like it's been a long winter (even if it has been mild in some parts) but it SOON will be over!!


I am so sorry you are feeling depressed. Your weight loss seems to be moving in the right direction. Continue on with Phase 2 eating, being sure that you get your fruits and grains in daily. If you are moving on to your second week of Phase 2, you should be eating 2 fruits and 2 grains each day. Next week you'll have 3 of each.


Phase 2 is the real weight loss phase, but it won't happen overnight! Stick with it and you will see the results. Also, try not to get hung up with the numbers on the scale. Gauge your success by how your clothes feel and your energy level.


Here are a couple of ideas that might help keep you on track:



  1. See if you can get the 'bad' foods out of the house. Can hubby and kids learn to make healthy choices too?
  2. Another trick is to buy the 'junky' foods that don't tempt you. I do this at Halloween - I only buy stuff I KNOW I won't eat.
  3. Journaling = we have a section for it here now. I find it VERY helpful to plan all the food I will eat every day. Seeing it in black and white helps me see that I have all my veggies, dairy, fruits and grains, etc.

Winter is almost over, we can celebrate spring soon. You can do it. If your level of depression is severe, you may want to check that out medically or with something hollistic. I find with the days getting longer and more light, I do better and feel happier. I find in a few weeks that I feel better in my clothes. my face even looks prettier (:- ) Keep at it and write here a lot. When the family eats what you don't want, maybe you can have 2 tsp of P'butter on an apple or stuffed in celery. Make air popped pop corn for them. read positive literature. leila

Thanks for helping everyone . i didn,t walk in p1 coz of low energy , now its first week of p2 and lots other things to do . so i,m going to start tommorow with the begining of sec week . walk is the only thing i can do . can,t wait for summer when i can go out and walk.
