I wouldn't know where to begin to make frozen yogurt. I buy sugar-free ice cream at the grocery store. Edy's is the brand I like and 1/2 cup is 90 calories, falling within the 100 calorie sweet treat limit for the day.

Better yet, Popsicle makes No Sugar Added Fudge Bars. I find these are easier for portion control!

A lot of yogurt parlors have sugar-free varieties - some don't though. So I would call ahead and ask if they have any sugar-free flavors. I had one parlor back home (we just moved) that carried 12 different flavors each day, 4 of those were sugar-free. Here in my new area, I have only found sugar-free at TCBY and they only have 1 flavor choice each day.

Are you in SD area? I remember seeing a Yogurt Mill there - if that is the same one, then they do have sugar-free flavors available.

Why not buy something to freeze regular yogurt, like fat free stoneyfield and add some fruit in a donvier. I think that is how you spell it. Therefore no added sugar. leila

In high school I worked in a frozen yogurt parlor and it used to make me laugh how people thought it was so healthy. The reality is that frozen yogurt is probably worse than ice cream because you probably end up eating more yogurt than you would have if you ate just a scoop of ice cream. Think about the cup size, and people got REALLY pissy if you didn't put a huge swirl at the top and pound the cup down to get out all of the air. A common order would be "fat-free vanilla yogurt with extra peanutbutter cup". There are sugar-free yogurts but there are probably better things with more nutrition that you could be eating. By the way it has been 13 years since my yogurt shop days and I haven't eaten it since (too grossed out by it).

Well - if you choose a sugar-free, fat free variety and stay within the 100 calorie limit, I can't see it being that much worse than any other "sweet treat" that we are allowed on South Beach. It is harder to stay within the limit - but you can if you insist. At my old yogurt shop I got them to give me the nutritional info from their supplier so I could calculate how many calories per ounce myself. They had a scale there and actually weighed my yogurt for me (they were next door to a Weight Watchers, so they did this often so they could tell people exactly how many Points/calories were in each size) They would make me a "mini" - it was 9oz of yogrut, which equaled about 100 calories.
