I'll tell you why I'm grossed out by frozen yogurt....If you ever get a chance, look inside the top of a yogurt or soft-serve machine where the actual product sits before it is sucked into the machine. The stuff gets caked on the side as it sits there and we were told to take a spatula and scrape it down so we wouldn't waste anything. ICK. I also remember that we found out that one of the girls that worked in the shop reconstituted a powdered yogurt product in the same bucket that we used to wash the machines out with. ACK! It also didn't help that we scrubbed the machines out with a toilet brush (a clean toilet brush used for that purpose only, but the mental connection between toilet and yogurt has been imprinted on me). Sorry, I've probably grossed you out so much that you will never want frozen yogurt again. :)

Is there a way to make your own Frozen Yogurt??? Like I am still on Phase One, but I was thinking to try making frozen yogurt, if that is allowed....

Also, is there a good way to make Cheesecake that can be eaten on Phase 1?

Thanks:)

You could probably buy a cheap ice cream maker and make frozen yogurt that way. It will never be like the stuff you get from the yogurt shops because frozen yogurt mix isn't like the yogurt you eat. It is liquid like soft serve mix with active cultures in it to be able to be classified as "yogurt". I posted a recipe for a sugar-free cheesecake under the recipe section last month. I believe it is allowed but must be counted towards your dairy and sweet treat calories. I make it and eat a tiny square after dinner for desert.

Yes, you can make frozen yogurt:

Homemade Frozen Yogurt – All Phases - from MichaelAnn
(using home ice cream maker)

To make two servings, start with –
2 cups plain nonfat yogurt
1 cup nonfat milk
sugar-free flavorings, syrups or extracts to taste

Some of my favorite variations:

Vanilla sf syrup (1 T per serving) and cinnamon (I just sprinkle in to taste)
Mango syrup (1 T per serving)
Splenda (to taste), lemon juice (about 1 T per serving), raspberry syrup (about 1 T per serving)
Peanut butter and Splenda
Any flavor of sugar-free Jell-O powder just like you flavor a yogurt
Any sugar-free flavored syrups (Davinci cookie dough syrup sounds like it would be really good!)

Phase 2: Add mashed berries with Splenda for a berry frozen yogurt.

Or make plain vanilla with the yogurt, milk, and either vanilla syrup or vanilla extract and Splenda - then top it with fresh berry sauce - like a sundae!

It's not frozen yogurt, but this is EASY to make and delicious!

Strawberry Ice Cream (phase 2)

1 cup sugar substitute
1 cup water
2-1/2 cups quartered strawberries (about 3 cups whole)
1 cup low-fat
