Agonizing over 2nd weigh in...

Today was the first day of P2 and also weigh in day...last week I had lost 8 pounds the first week of P1 and today first it said UP 5 pounds then stepped off and weighed again and it said up 2...I am so frustrated I didn't eat anything I wasn't suppose to have this weekend...could it be that I didn't get my snacks in? It's so hard on the weekends for me to get snacks in and sometimes lunch is a snack because there are soccer games and errands...I said I wasn't going to get upset and stick with it but when you don't see positive results it's upsetting...I mean yes we did eat out a couple of times but considering where we ate I felt I did really GOOD! Friday we ate at Olive Garden...I thought it would be difficult for a pasta-lover but I had salad and the grilled chicken with vegetables I even asked before ordering it there was any breading on the chicken and asked them to leave the potatos off my plate so they double the veggies but I didn't eat them all...We ate at a steakhouse Saturday night and I had salad, Steak kabobs and green beans...bread sat right in front of me and I wasn't even tempted...Sunday we ate chinese but I chose ONLY grilled chicked and vegetables and was VERY aware of my portions...I over did it with eating out right???

I moved on to P@ today with hesitation bc of the scale but understand I must move to P2...I added Fiber One at breakfast with 1 cup of milk; snack: FF refried beans with tsp taco sauce and pinch of low fat cheese; lunch had two pieces of smoked turkey with mozz. string cheese and green pepper roll ups [I brought veggies for lunch but didn't like them the way I fixed them; snack: 1/2 apple with 2tbsp PB...What am I doing wrong?

I drink at least 3 liters of water a day...is that too much or not enough...and one last question...I've been reading about metamucil and benefiber...should I add this to my diet and take before each meal???

ALL advice welcome....

TIA,
Misti

Misti

I'll leave the response to the food choices to those who know better than me, but right away it seems like the Chinese food could have had a lot of sodium and/or MSG which would cause water retention. I bet if you keep drinking your water today and tomorrow and watch any foods with excess sodium, you will be right back on track Wednesday.

Hi Misty, I wouldn't add metamucil etc if you eat normal fiber foods. As Maggie pointed out, sometimes eating out has salt, with me Chinese. Forget the scale for a while, follow the plan, eat for health, it will equalize. Buy a new scale. JOKE. Leila

Thanks you guys for the words of encouragment...I know this will take a while and won't happen over night but when I see the scale move up I get so frustrated when I know I have been making better choices...I think my husband and I are going to buy and elliptical this weekend...we are at least going to look at them...Hopefully this will help...

"first it said UP 5 pounds then stepped off and weighed again and it said up 2"

Misti, I would ditch that scale, it's messed up.
