Skipping phase 1, starting phase 2

I've been doing a combination of South Beach and Weight Watchers for the past week. I've been eating all South Beach phase 2 foods but keeping at 20 WW points (my Mom did WW a while back so we have all the info, so it was easy to count points). I've just gotten off of Prednisone, a steroid that really messes up your body. (I had to take it because I lost my hearing and the only thing shown to possibly help was prednisone...and it did! The hearing came back, so I'm not deaf anymore. I was totally deaf for two days, then got my hearing back for 3 days, then lost it again for a week, and now it's been back for almost a month. Yay! But that's a whole different story...) I'm experiencing a lot of withdrawal, and I've found that the two days when I only ate phase 1 foods the side effects of extreme exhaustion, joint pain, and nausea increased. Plus, my doc said I need to eat fruit for the antioxidants for hearing reasons. Anyway, I think I'm going to start a strict phase 2. I'm thinking 1 grain and 2 fruits...I know that's not the way you would usually start on phase 2, but I have to eat the extra fruit for health reasons. I'm hoping that this will work and I will lose the weight! Please tell me what you think! Thanks,
Cassie

Cassie,
I am so glad you are feeling better! How scary that must have been for you. It sounds like you have a good plan. I would suggest going straight to 2 grains and 2 fruits per day. Also, don't forget dairy - you should have 3 servings daily.
Good luck!
Hi Cassie!
