I accidentally put my introduction of myself in Phase 2, but I'm actually just starting Phase 1, sorry. Anyways, I've never been on any type of diet in my life because I've always been pretty thin until lately, and I was worried about Phase 1 a little bit because I had heard that since it is low carb during the first 2 weeks, sometimes people can feel sick etc., but so far I feel great, actually better than normal. Now this is only my second day of course, but I thought that first day would have left me feeling weird or something. So far I've just been adapting my normal recipes that I have most of the time anyways to fit with Phase 1. I used to always have smoothies for breakfast, so I still made one today, just with different ingredients that I was allowed to have. I still need to get in that half cup of veggies though, I'm running late today :)

Hi Jen,
Don't worry about where you post things.
Oh, that's good to know because breakfast time just isn't when I want to eat veggies. I don't mind making up for it later, thanks!!!

Welcome, Jen!
Unfortunately a lot of the more specific guidelines of South Beach are not in the book. The book is more the philosophy, without the actual nuts and bolts. Most of the information we have about exact products specifications, serving sizes and limites, etc. is only available on the official South Beach web site. I guess they figure why include it all in one book that pay $20 for ONE time, when you could only have it on a web site that people have to pay a monthly subscription to!
The recommended daily serving amounts of protein, fats, nuts, veggies, dairy, fruits, grains and sweet treats can be found on these charts:
