Okay, am I getting this right for Phase 2??
One fruit per day for the first week, gradually adding up to 3 per day by week 3.. got that..
How about cereal in the morning?? Count as grains, or, starch?
How many grain servings per day, and, how many starch servings per day?
I am SO looking forward to my first bowl of High Fiber High Protein cereal on Monday morning! (I'll miss my raisins, though!!)
So, if I have a bowl of cereal in the morning, does that count as my allowance for the day!! I am excited about Phase 2 but don't want to overdo it.
Is bread considered a grain or starch, by the way???
Can I have one piece or two??
Thanks again for all your help- looks like I have lost 6 pounds so far in Phase 1!!

Hi Michelle -
I know the CL's can answer better but until you hear from them I will put in my two cents as to the way I understand it. You are right about the way to build up to three grains/starch and three fruits. Your cereal would count as a grain/starch and it should be no more than 30g for one serving and should have at least 3g fiber in that 30g. The same goes for the bread.....if one slice = 30g and has at least 3g fiber, then is counts as one serving but watch out because alot of the breads are heavier...some as high as 43g per slice and that one should have at least 4.5g fiber and would count as 1 1/2 servings of grain. And yes, if you have that bowl of cereal for breakfast in week one, it would be your grain for the day.
