Dont' feel like I'm on a diet!

So I've been on phase 2 for almost a week and I have to admit I really don't feel like I'm dieting. I'm never hungry, I love the food I'm eating and I rarely am denying myself anything I want. I don't really miss the sweets-I'm just really finding that yummy delicious fruit and my SF fudgsicles hit the spot. I'm so satisfied and fulfilled that I'm beginning to worry. And I'm worried that I may have gained a few pounds back of the six that I lost in phase 1...I'm afraid to get on the scale because even though I know that a slight weight gain at the beginning of phase 2 is normal, I have a feeling I'll find it really disheartening. But other than that I'm really feeling good about this WOE, I really feel like it's something I can LIVE with, as opposed to just something I need to get through.

asiamilan, that's great!!!
I know what you mean, I'm into my fifth month and it's just so easy to follow. Weight loss is up and down on the scale each week, but on the average it's been a pound a week. Since it's so easy to stay on, I don't need dramatic losses to "get it over with". I feel I'm giving my body what it needs to run the best it can, both physically and mentally.

Hi Sally, I'm new to SBD (on P1 day 8) and I just wanted to thank you for your post. So far my weight has been all over the board and going up the last couple of days, and that can be very, very frustrating. I orginally started this diet to lose weight for my november wedding and as I've been doing it I thought to myself, "why in the world would I go through all this effort, working out etc for ONE day if I'm just going to go back to my normal "overweight" self?" I just realized that this is a journey for better health, longer life, etc. So, so what if my weight fluctuates, so what if I don't reach my exact goal weight. The point is to improve my health and learn a better way of eating, not for one day but for every day. Thank you for the reminder!

Lori-
I think the way you do with goals way out there, although I have little goals along the way too. Think of what you could accomplish by November! I needed to lose about 50 so I figured it would take me a year. Since even every five pounds feels so great, it's been fun all the way discovering clothes I can wear and feeling better and better. I agree with you- keeping it off will be the biggest challenge. I think that's what is great about the South Beach as it's something I can live with.
Weight is up and down though. I keep track so that when I'm feeling I haven't lost in a while and I can go back and see that it's okay and it's normal. Below is a week by week of drops in weight each week- it's taking the lowest weight of that week. It's just the last 14 weeks, I started in late January and this is just end of March forward. So it shows the one pound a week. I know if I had exercised more it would be a bit better, but I'm walking now and plan on adding a bit more.
Best part is to find a way to enjoy the journey!

Sally, I think that's really good advice. Because it seems to me that when I'm dieting (in the past) and now on SBD, that one or two days a week I will drop a pound or so, but then it goes back up (with no reason). Of course when it goes back down again it is usually a new low. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's the trend that counts and if I take my average weight each week it keeps getting lower. No question though, that on monday morning when the scale says I weigh as much as the monday before it can be frustrating. I just have to remember it's over the long run. Thanks for sharing and your advice. I really appreciate it! :)

I like that- that the trend is that the weight is going lower! This morning I'm a pound up from last week's new low but I'm happy for that after a holiday weekend. I think it's because I had some salty things last night so perhaps if I make sure to drink a bunch of water today, I can hope tomorrow to have maintained or even to a new low.
