Blah!

My appetite was feeling particularly insatiable this morning, and I had way too much Fiber One for breakfast. I didn't even bother pouring it into a bowl. The box has two pouches of cereal in it and I just took one and started munching on them. It looks like hamster stuff and I wish it tasted like it too - maybe then I wouldn't be so indulgent with it. I probably had somewhere around 3 cups of it and the serving size is 1/2 cup.

It's early in the day and I'm trying not to let it ruin the rest of my eating. Should I still have a fruit serving today or skip it altogether? Should I skimp anywhere else in my diet to make up for it?

TIA,

Jen

*edit* I consciously overeat, I know when I'm doing it and I do it to make me feel better. I've been out of college for about a month and a half now and STILL can't find the right job. It's so frustrating and I have student loans and credit card debts that aren't going anywhere except UP, interest wise. I was going through some financial stuff while I was eating so I'm sure that's what triggered it. Any advice on how to separate food and emotion on sticky subjects like that? Sorry for complaining, ladies.

SBD is going well for me. I've only been at this for about a month, but I'm not hurting at all. I've been on the go like mad, so I haven't weighed myself for a while, but the pants are feeling better, so I know I'm doing well. The best thing I've done so far is kick the sugar cravings. My roommate made rice krispy treats with chocolate on top of them, and I didn't have a single one! I also told her she's evil. She doesn't really do it to be mean, if I'm having something questionable she'll ask me about it, so it's more support. She thought the cheesecake recipie on here was really good too, so try that sometime - when you have people to share it with!

I'm glad I can offer some support. My life since college has been filled with many ups and downs from various sources, and it makes it worth while when I know that I can offer support from it. Plus, I applied for grad school in Theology, so it's nice to get some practice in. :)

Feel free to send me an e-mail if you need anything. There's a link to it from my page on here!

I'm a cheesecake fan, so I'll have to try that sometime!!!

When do you find out about grad school? Or are you already in? That's exciting, good for you!!

Are you 23-24ish then?

I take my GRE July 28th, and then I'm going on a long weekend vacation. :)
I fall into the category of those who did college, went into the workforce and then decided to go back to school. So, I'm actually 28... and loving every minute of my age. I refuse to let a number rule my life! (I'll rethink that philosophy at 31. I may stay there for a while!)

Jen,

When I got out of college I had some financial difficulties too. You can ask the student loan people for a "forbearance" because of financial hardship. I think the interest may keep accruing, but you don't have to make payments for some amount of time you negotiate with them. They were really nice about it, so it wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be.

(((BIG Hugs))) to you. There are so many wonderful, supportive people on the boards here to give you a boost when you need it. Take care!

Deb, that is actually what I did. I have to apply for my next forbearance. I'm making payments, but it's just not enough to keep up, and with the rising cost of everything it's just too much to take. They were really nice, and they do take into account that I try to make payments. I have online billpay, so I can pay weekly, and that has really helped with keeping the interest down. I've almost managed to pay off the interest from this forbearance! Compared to where I was 2 years ago when I almost went into default, I'm doing great!

Thanks for your support. By the way, did you go on your trip, or is that coming up soon?

Deb, that's probably what I will end up doing! Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it! I'm glad to hear they are understanding and friendly - it will make me less hesitant about making the call to do so!

Kelly,

Glad to see I'm not the only one who falls into the college/life/more college category :) Good luck on your GRE!

Oh, my gosh - have you gone through this too?!? I'm becoming more terrified about the GRE as my date gets closer. Any advice?

Well I never took the GRE, but I did have to take the LSAT in December. (I'm starting law school in the fall). I was so paranoid that I was going to flunk! I was asking everyone and their mother for advice. The most common was to take lots of practice tests and try to relax. I don't know how the GRE works, but I know that the more practice tests I took really helped me prepare more than just studying. Trying to relax is way easier said than done, but it also helped me to concentrate better.

Good luck!!!
