Breakfast?

My goal is to officially begin the diet on Monday.
I've been eating a delicious healthy and nutritious dry cereal for breakfast every day that has raisins and a good mixture of stuff. That and a cup of orange juice and a multi-vitamin are a good, filling start to my day.
Obviously, that will be off-limits during Phase I. (Waaaaahhh!) I don't understand what is allowed for breakfast for protein. I couldn't see eating meat for breakfast.
I guess I'd have to eat non-fat yogurt. Would hard-boiled eggs be acceptable?
I take chewable multi-vitamins with sugar. I'll have to see if that has actual sugar or sugar subsitute because I don't want to stop using those. (I don't think it would hurt anything if I continued taking it and it has a little sugar in it.)
Thoughts?

Hi,
Raisins shouldn't be introduced until phase 3 and orange juice is not a good idea on any phase of South Beach.
What?! No orange juice - not even in Stage 2 or 3????
I don't know if I could live without OJ in the morning.
I guess I could adjust to tomato juice ... but it's not the same.
Another great substitution for OJ is the Crystal Light "Sunrise" in either the orange flavor or the red grapfruit flavor. Its not quite the "same" - dh and I both grew up drinking Odwalla orange juice (the company was started just miles from where we grew up) and Crystal Light will never TRULY compare. But its not too bad either!
Eggs are the most popular breakfast food. I hate eggs though, so generally I had yogurt or cottage cheese along with some turkey bacon or soy-based sausage.

Another kind of protien you may like for breakfast is turkey bacon or Canadian bacon.
That sounds delicious (turkey bacon / Canadian bacon).
Will I be able to switch to the South Beach cereal (or other cereals) in Phase 2?
Here are the guidelines for choosing a breakfast cereal in phase 2:

Here's the entire "Starting Phase 2" thread.
It's so great to have this information handy and all of this wonderful advice and support.
Thanks!
Hi, I'm starting week 4 of the SBD (week 2 of Phase 2). During Phase 1, for breakfast I stuck to eggs, Canadian bacon, tuna with SBD-friendly mayo and onion, or slices of turkey, roast beef, and/or low-salt ham, plus a couple of thin slices of Alpine Lace low-fat Swiss cheese. Now that I'm on Phase 2, some mornings I have 30 g (way less than I used to eat) of Spoon-Size Shredded Wheat with fat-free milk and Splenda.
I think the SBD cereals may be a little less "friendly" for Phase 2 than the Shredded Wheat is. I suspect they're aimed more at the general population than someone seriously doing Phase 2, but I could be wrong about that. (Can anyone enlighten me?)
Suggestion for eggs: I saute some frozen peppers and onions (I use Birds-Eye's pepper stir-fry mix) in butter spray (I Can't Believe It's Not Butter), then I scramble three eggs with some fat-free milk and pour that on top of the veggies. I let that cook a while, then I add 1/4 c. of low-fat shredded mozzarella, flip it over, and voila! A delicious omelet. I have that with a couple of slices of Canadian bacon on the side, and that keeps me satisfied for hours.
I also used to love having OJ in the morning, but I've gotten accustomed to drinking V-8 instead, which I really enjoy.
Good luck to both of us!
