Help! We are having guests over for dinner tonight and would like to make a really good company-worthy P2 dessert. I can always fall back on strawberries from my garden, but that doesn't seem very exciting for company. Tell me your favorites!

(Here's the rest of the dinner menu if anyone is interested:

Appetizers: raw veggies with red pepper hummus; melon with prosciutto; cold shrimp with SB cocktail sauce

Soup: gazpacho

Main: grilled jerk chicken with fruit salsa; basmati rice (brown if I can find it); grilled veggies; I may add homemade whole wheat bread if I have a recipe for my bread machine and have the ingredients on hand.

Dessert: ??? You tell me!

I'm really looking forward to your input!

Thanks, Cathy!

Do you find that the vital gluten makes a noticeable difference in the bread? I have everything else on hand... but knowing me, I'll be making a trip to the store today anyway :)

All bread needs just a touch of sugar to activate the yeast.

I ended up making this whole wheat bread from the King Arthur flour website. I used 3 cups of "white" whole wheat flour, about 1/3 flax seeds and 2/3 sunflower seeds, and a whole packet of yeast (which was a little more than was called for). I tried a tiny piece and it's yummy!

I also decided on the flourless chocolate cakes.

Deb,

How did it all turn out?

Thanks for asking. It was great! The only problem I had was that I sprayed the muffin cups with cooking spray then used cocoa powder to "flour" them, and some of them stuck. I served them with a few fresh raspberries and a ff-sf creme anglaise I made. One of my guests kept talking about licking her plate. I told her we would leave her alone with her dessert if she wanted ;) but she decided to just be very thorough with her fork.

I'm definitely going to try some of the other SB desserts!
