Servings of grain/fruit?

Has anyone determined that they can only afford themselves 1 serving of grain and 1 serving of fruit instead of moving up to the 2 and then ideally 3 servings of each?
I ask because I feel like this is me and I want to know if it is okay to just have one of each and still be successful. I feel like when I move up to 2 and definitely 3 that it is disaster everytime, but at only 1 serving of each I don't feel overwhelmed with cravings.

There are two approaches to starting phase 2 and maybe you need to follow the most cautious approach so that you can monitor more carefully for cravings.
