Today is my last day of Phase I, and I'm on to Phase II tomorrow. I've lost about 12 pounds (!), my clothes are fitting a bit better, and I'm feeling pretty good. It was a rough last week - PMS-induced food cravings, stress, tiredness - but I pushed on and made it. I did cheat a bit last night, but I was still down a pound today from yesterday, so it all worked out okay. (I don't typically weigh myself daily, I was just curious.)
So, Phase II. I'm looking through the suggested menu in the SBD book (I have the second recipe book, too), and it seems that there is a lot of time involved in some of these breakfasts. Work that can't be done ahead of time. I'm a sleep-as-long-as-possible girl, definitely NOT a morning person, and there is no way on this green earth that I will be getting out of bed to make myself a full breakfast. I can have all the good intentions in the world, and it just won't happen. I know this about myself.
For years, I just didn't bother with breakfast. All the standard excuses, "It upsets my stomache, I don't have time, I'm not hungry, blah blah blah." ;-) I did well on Phase I, because I could make a batch of the veggie quiches on Sunday, freeze them in baggies, and grab one on my way out the door. By the time I got to work my stomache had settled, and I could microwave one and start my day that way.
But the berry smoothie - though it sounds great - will need to be made at home. Oatmeal, I'm guessing, can not be made the night before and then just heated up the next day. (Can it?) I can probably make the oatmeal pancakes ahead of time, and nuke them at work. I can set up the fruit parfait the night before, and grab that on my way out the door.
But my question for you ladies is, have you found any shortcuts for breakfast that work for you? I don't want to spend the rest of my life eating veggie quiches - no matter how you mix them up, they can get old. And I have a long time to be on Phase II, so any advice you have is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to phase 2!
There are some things that can be made in advance including oatmeal.
Welcome to phase 2.
If you are already in a phase 1 breakfast groove, there's no reason to change that. Add your fruits and grain at another time of day.
For oatmeal, I use Quaker Old Fashioned oats. They only take 3
Wow, thanks for the tips! I've already grown tired of the veggie quiche cups, and was actually looking forward to some variety. I think I'll try out that oatmeal recipe with peanut butter - you steered me right on the fudgsicle peanut butter cups!
I just discovered (er, was very kindly and gently directed to) the "find messages about" field above. I can't believe I missed that, I feel like such a newbie dork (not that all newbies are dorks, but I feel like one). ;-) I'll search for more breakfast ideas.
Thanks!

You're welcome! Yes, the search tools come in pretty handy (there's an advanced search at the top of the tan panel, too).
