Homemade Bread Question.

Sorry if this question is a "given". I just don't want to have any setbacks at this time. My question is:When making homemade bread either in bread machine or in the oven, how does on go about slicing it to meet and not exceed the daily portion allowance? Thanks for any feddback given.
