Ingredients listed in this bread are

Whole Wheat Flour, Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Wheat Gluten, Soybean Oil and other ingredients. Its says 100% Whole Wheat Bread baked from wheat flour.

Is this bread OK? This stuff get get pretty confusing figuring out if its ok.

Is whole wheat flour the same as whole wheat grain?

I would avoid this one personally because of the high fructose corn syrup.

The whole wheat flour is correct - it is just the sweetener in this case.

Breads need a little sugar to get the yeast going so you can't avoid it completely.

The CL's can post a list of approved breads.

Hi,

I am going to try to make this easy. The recommendations for bread are 3 grams of fiber per one ounce (30 gram) slice or more. Look for whole grain flours rather than unbleached, enriched, or other refined flour products. Yes, some breads do contain high fructose corn syrup. If you can find ones that don't have it, that would be a better choice. However, most breads do contain some type of sugar to help the yeast.

A list of recommended breads would be wonderful. Made a note of the pepperidge farms breads, which can be expensive breads to purchase.

The bread I originally posted says 2g of sugar per service.

Is 2g too much sugar per serving (1 slice)?

thanks again.

You don't need to look at the sugar grams only the fiber when choosing a bread.
