Start P2 yesterday

I am a bit frustrated as I only lost 4 pounds in phase 1.  But it is weight loss, so I will carry on.  I know a big part of my problem is not fitting in exercise - having 6 month twins at home makes it hard.

The last time I did SBD, I lost 7 pounds in phase 1, and I only had 10 total pounds to lose.  I think that's why I am a bit frustrated, this time around I have 30 pounds to lose and only lost 4 in P1.  The difference is exercise.  I gotta get my butt to the gym more often.

I have preemie twins so I won't take them to the gym daycare.  I have to sneak out during my work day while the nanny is watching them, or leave DH home alone with them at night.  DH doesn't mind it, but I can't do that to him every night.

Well wish me luck on P2.  It was so wonderful to have oatmeal for breakfast today!

Congratulations on reaching phase 2 ~ I'm glad you enjoyed your oatmeal!

A loss of 4 pounds in phase 1 is pretty good and a healthy rate! You should have gotten rid of cravings and laid the groundwork for healthy eating. With this in mind, you are ready to start reintroducing new foods during Phase 2.

For exercise, how about using videos at home when the twins are napping or in for the night? Maybe you can walk the babies in their stroller on warmer days.

HTH and keep us posted on your progress.

Susan,
I usually go to the gym late at night, once i put both kids to bed. The older one has a strict schedule so he's in bed by 8:30. So my DH has to deal only with the baby and that's only when and IF he wakes up. I go around 9pm, very tired, but I drag myself to the gym, even for 30 min. Once I'm there, I really enjoy it- go a sauna afterwards and relax.

That's what I am thinking of doing.

What about that strolling suggestion? Are the girls cleared for long stroller walks outdoors?

I had a baby and a toddler with special needs and I would stick them in the double stroller and take off. I had a been a runner and I found that I could definitely break a sweat and get my heart rate up (especially after so many sedentary months). I brought along my cell phone with a headset and got caught up on phone calls. It was a festival of multi-tasking and made me feel great. These days I can only handle one or the other, but my husband is thrilled to have one less to take care of while I exercise.

It's been 6 days since you posted, how is it going?

We were taking walks this summer and when it was still warm, but I live in Michigan and it has now turned cold and dreary.

Too bad about the weather. We're in D.C. and it's been a little grim here lately as well. Way to go on hitting the gym and congratulations on the 7 lbs.!
