SF Angel Food cake

I bought a SF Angel Food cake today and had a very small slice with fresh strawberries. There is 6 servings per cake but I cut the cake into 18 servings. I sprinkled some Davinci SF caramel on top. The package says for 1 slice (remember, I had about 1/3 of that) 19g Carbs; 2g of fiber; and 0 sugar. There was however 12g sugar alcohol which I am not sure what that is. Now that I am actually typing this out, I realize I probably shouldn't have had it. It was a nice change from the fudgepops and I really hate the ricotta desserts. I have lost 6 pounds so far. Can someone please verify if I should or shouldn't have this. Everyone here is always so helpful and supportive of each other. Even though I rarely post questions, I am always on this board reading and learning. Thanks in advance for your support.
Good luck everyone,
Dawn

I would guess it's not South Beach approved since it was probably made with white flour. That said, I'm sure there was no harm done & like you said, we're always learning!
I hope somebody can tell you what sugar alcohols are better than I can. I know that's what they use to substitute regular sugar in sugar-free candy.
GL!
Hi Dawn,
The Angel Food cake was probably not legal.
Thanks again,
Dawn
