I've just started phase 2 so tomorrow its off to the grocery store in search of cereal, bread and pasta...are there any that ya'll think are *must haves* and any that you would never buy again?  Thanks for your help, I feel so awesome since starting SB and its only been just over 2 weeks but I couldn't have done it without the awesome posts on this board. Thanks :)

Mags, what do you eat on your waffle? And is one considered a serving? TIA!

In addition to Mags list, I always buy ww pita. It's great for sandwiches and I make toasted garlic triangles to go with soup.

I don't often buy waffles, but the Kashi ones are my favorite. I usually have one with a smear of peanut butter and sliced bananas, but you might like to try sf maple syrup.

Enjoy your grains!

Edited to add that I like to have crackers on hand....either Triscuit Thin Crisps, Ak-Mak, or Wasa Multi-Grain.

The grains we ALWAYS have on hand:

whole wheat pita (Kangaroo is my favorite brand) We go through more than one pack a week since we generally make about 3-4 sandwiches a day on it (me, dh, kids)

Ezekial English Muffins (Thomas doesn't have enough fiber in my opinion)

Oatbran hot cereal (because cooks quicker than oatmeal and it can be a last minute thing)

ww couscous (again, I always have it on hand because it cooks faster than brown rice and you can decide at the LAST minute to make it and its done in under 10 min)

And Spelt pretzels and Triscuit crackers to bag and take as snacks on the go are a necessity in our house

I drizzle a little sf maple syrup (counts toward my Sweet Treats) on my waffle and sometimes add a slice of cooked turkey bacon on top -- yum! One waffle counts as one grain serving.
