Hi,
Was wondering if edamame counts towards a grain or vegetable serving?

TIA

Ok, Cathy...So my question is, how do you make Edamame? Which kind do you buy? Fresh or Frozen?

TIA,

If I plan on using them in a recipe (like the brown rice & edamame) I buy them frozen and already shelled.

saw the recipe in gourmet,it turned out really good.

MMM... Sounds good. One stupid question. If you stir fry edamame, do you shell them first? Or still fry them as is...

Thanks for all the suggestions.

You would take them out of the pod or shell. I'm not sure that part is even edible :-P

Just a tad off topic. I am surprised that they are not limited due to their higher fat content (6g / half cup) than other veggies (except avocado of course). Just curious. 4 1/2 cups of soybeans a day could really add up in the calorie dept!!
