Went shopping and want to check

I just got back from the store shopping for my phase two foods to enjoy. I bought a lot of the veggies I had been eating on phase one and the yogurt and cottage cheese. But I have a few questions. I had a hard time finding bread but I think I found some it is Sara Lee 100% whole wheat. Ingredients stone ground whole wheat flour, water, high fructose corn syrup, wheat, yeast. The dietary fibers are 5g and the sugars are 4. Does this work? All of the other breads I found that were 100% whole wheat had very few fibers and tons of sugar like upwards of 9 g. Please let me know on that bread.

Then I found pasta that the only ingredient is 100% whole grain durum wheat. I am not sure what durum means. It has 5 g of fiber and 2 g of sugar.

I also bought Kashi GoLean crunch. I was going to get Uncle Sam's cereal but they were out of it.

I bought tortillas that the ingredients are whole wheat flour, water, multi-grain flour (cracked wheat, wheat bran, rye flakes, wheat flour, barley flakes, triticale flour, corn flour, oat flour) They have 5g fiber and 2g sugar

The last thing I have a question on is the rice I bought it is whole grain brown rice. Ingredients precooked parboiled whole grain brown rice. Is this okay?

Thanks for the help. I was at the store for almost 2 hours reading labels trying to find what I needed.

I also bought lots of frozen fruits and a few grapefruits, oranges, apples. Are these all okay. The frozen fruits are mixed berries, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries.

TIA

Kelly

It can take quite a while to get accustomed to all the "rules."

Thanks for the advice. I will take the Kashi back and get the other kind. Yea it was pretty frustrating to stand in the store and not really know what i was looking for. The serving size on the bread is 48g is on slice or one serving. I am not sure on the tortillas. But thank you for all the advice it really helps.
I am not a big rice fan but didn't know what to get so i'll try some and then go get the regular rice next time.

Strawberries and sugar syrup sounds way good. I have never even heard of it.

It sounds like you had a hard time. I hope everything has worked out. I don't know what I would do.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Hey Kelly,
Also wanted to say that I'm not a big rice fan. Therefore, I just don't even eat it. I mean, it's okay, but I'd rather use my carbs for something that I really enjoy. Like a sweet potato or a slice of good bread. If you don't like rice so much, than I don't think you have to eat it.

Thank you. Your advice on what to get really helped. I am hoping it will get easier each time I go so it doesn't end up having to be a 2 hour process everytime I go to the store. But so far so good. I am down 13 lbs and have a lot of energy. I am going to start working out at least 20 minutes a day so that should help as well. Thanks again you have been a big help.

I like it every once in a while but only in the smallest portions so I thought it was something good to have just in case I couldn't think of anything but I really don't think I am going to be eating much of it so I am glad I am not the only one that doesn't enjoy rice.
