Questions about Grain Servings in Phase2

Hi,

I started out Phase 2 by having 1/2 cup of Fiber One cereal in the morning with some strawberries. Heading into week 2 I know that I should go on to 2 servings of grains. So my questions are:

1) Can I make my cereal serving 1 cup to get the 2 servings? Or is it better to get another type of grains in there?

2) I found Thomas's Whole Wheat wraps at Shoprite this weekend and was wondering if they are OK to have. I believe that had 3g of fiber and no illegal ingredients. Anyone use them before? Are there other wraps out there that have more fiber or are better?

Thanks

It's always best to vary your foods while staying within the limits. Not only

I think I remember reading the nutrition panel on the Thomas' wraps.

Thanks Cathy and Karen for the reply. Is there a particular wrap that you use that is legal?

I used to use LaTortilla Factory 100% whole wheat tortillas.

I've never been able to find any bread or wrap or pita for that matter that met the fiber requirements. Seems like they all just fell short at 2 grams/30 oz. I personally have chosen to accept 2 grams of fiber as okay since I've had great difficulty in locating grains that follow the rules 100%. But, thats my *personal* choice. I rarely have bread or wraps as my grain servings anyway so its not that big of a deal for me.

I'd love to know of any brands that are legal if anyone knows of any????

I think Nature's Own makes a Double Fiber whole wheat bread that barely squeaks by the requirements. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I've had the same problem, Doreen. I found that and the Thomas brand mini bagels and did the best I could on some ww tortillas. I'm like you, I don't eat these every day, so I look for the best ones I can find and figure I'm doing better than I used to...pre-SBD, that is.

I just bought the Latortilla brand 100% WW tortilla (I'm in michigan) at Meijer...this one was seasoned with green onion and fit the requirements...I sure hope they aren't going to discontinue them just when I found them...hmphs :)

Cathy, I know this is an older thread, but today I went shopping and went to Trader Joes. I was looking at the tortillas and I found the La Tortilla Factory 100% WW tortillas! So they do still exist... at least at this store. I also found them at Von's or I guess in some places it's Safeway.

I'm definitely going to pick some of these up.

Thanks for the recommendation,
Carla :)
