Pizza lovers!.. any ideas for crusts?

I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for pizza crusts. Karen messaged me about a whole wheat pizza crust, but I don't have any idea what's needed, besides the obvious WW.. lol.

But anyone out there with some inventive "legal" crusts, I'd love to hear from ya.

TIA
Craving Pizza, Carla :)

Here ya go:

AMAZING WHOLE WHEAT PIZZA CRUST
1 tsp. Splenda
1 1/2 c. warm water (110 deg. F/45 deg. C)
1 Tbl. active dry yeast
1 Tbl. olive oil
1 tsp. salt
3 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

In a large bowl, dissolve Splenda in warm water. Sprinkle yeast over the top, and let stand for about 10 minutes, until foamy. Stir the olive oil and salt into the yeast mixture, then mix in 3 cups of the whole wheat flour until dough starts to come together. Tip dough out onto a surface floured with the remaining all-purpose flour, and knead until all of the flour has been absorbed, and the ball of dough becomes smooth, about 10 minutes. Place dough in an oiled bowl and turn to coat the surface. Cover loosely with a towel, and let stand in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour. When the dough is doubled, tip the dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and divide into 2 pieces for 2 thin crust, or leave whole to make one thick crust. Form into a tight ball. Let rise for about 45 minutes, until doubled.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Roll a ball of dough with a rolling pin until it will not stretch any further. Then, drape it over both of your fists, and gently pull the edges outward, while rotating the crust. When the circle has reached the desired size, place on a well oiled pizza pan. Top pizza with your favorite toppings, such as sauce, cheese, meats, or vegetables. Bake for 16 to 20 minutes (depending on thickness) in the preheated oven, until the crust is crisp and golden at the edges, and cheese is melted on the top.

Hi Carla,

If you want to go the super-easy route, there's a whole wheat Boboli pizza crust you can buy that's SBD-friendly.

I saw this pizza crust in Publix the other day and was wondering if it would be 'legal'. I saw the 100% whole wheat label on it. I'm so glad there is a good pizza crust that can be bought as I have never been very good at baking any kind of doughs or breads. I'm going to get one of these this week and make that bbq chicken pizza I've been wanting to try!!!

Thanks Maggie!!!

Taco pizza...sounds great!!!

I posted the recipe to the bbq pizza that I'm going to try..it's around here somewhere!!! If anyone would like it, I'll try to find it for you. I absolutely love the bbq chicken pizza from California Pizza Kitchen (in the restaurant as well as the frozen kind), so I'm hoping that this recipe is something along the line of that...I think that it will definitely be a good alternative.

Thanks Maggie...sounds terrific!!!

Here's the BBQ chicken pizza...if anyone is interested.

BBQ Chicken Pizza
(allrecipes.com)
1T sesame oil
1 skinless boneless chicken breast half
1/4C low-carb BBQ sauce, divided
1/2C sugar-free marinara sauce (I plan on using some sf spaghetti sauce)
1 (16oz.) pre-baked whole wheat pizza crust
1C shredded reduced-fat mozarella cheese
1/3C thinly sliced red onion
2T chopped fresh cilantro

Heat the sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the chicken breast in the skillet, and top with 1 tablespoon barbeque sauce. Cook 10 minutes, turn, and top with 1 tablespoon barbeque sauce. Continue cooking 10 minutes, until juices run clear. Cool slightly, and cut into chunks. Preheat oven to 425. In a small bowl, mix the remaining barbeque sauce and marinara sauce. Spread evenly over the pizza crust. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Arrange cooked chicken chunks and red onion slices over the top. Bake 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from heat, sprinkle with cilantro, and let sit 10 minutes before slicing.
