Having issue with starches and cravings

I am having issues my starches too. I am having cravings all over the place. I have put on four pounds. School is making staying on the plan a lot harder.

I am completely out of control with bread and popcorn. I am craving salty foods and I been have eating fatty meats. I need some suggestions. I am bored with my foods. Should I do Phase I to detox again. I think some of this emotional ( always been an emotional eater). I am under so much pressure.

I get a two week break again, so I want to get back on track. The good thing is I am working out now. So just need to get back on plan. I am going to use the South Beach entrees more. I know that eating a lot of frozen is not good but I need something. I am not up for cooking with all my studies. I think of taking three classes instead of two and I work full time. Sorry for rambling.

Hi. I'm sorry you are so frustrated and under so much pressure. But, the good news is that you have started exercising and you recognize that your eating is getting out of control. Planning is the key to success. I know it's hard when you're in school and the choices are not always good, but you need to discipline yourself to make the best choices with what is offered.

Do you have refrigeration and cooking facilities available to you or do you rely completely on a meal plan? Try to

I am a part time student but I work full time. So my time is limited. I was at a point I cooked everything. I just don't have the time. I will cook when I can and use frozen entree when I can't. I will be more mindful when it comes to starch.

At this point I am down over thirty pounds and I went from a size 20 to a 16. I am not going lose focus now. I will be finished this July so I am really hanging in there.
Thanks Karen!

Wow! Sounds like a busy life. I remember those days. It's tough working and taking courses at the same time. Do you have a crockpot? Maybe you can make 1 or 2 big things like chilli and beef stew that can last a long time. Karen had great snack ideas. You could also snack on nuts in class, etc.

Good luck!

It sounds like you're hanging in there!! Maybe over the weekend you can make things to freeze in batches - like chilis, soups, stews, grilled chicken breasts, etc. Instead of relying so heavily of pre-packaged frozen entrees you can just defrost your own food from the freezer. Also, I know it's tempting but try to stay away from fast food. Arm yourself with good snacks too like nuts, cheesestix, dried apricots, Kashi bars. There are so many things that we CAN eat and again, it's all in the planning.

Hugs,

I am going to giving a shot. I made my list and will start with the chilli, broil some chicken breast and cook the sphagetti squash. I will freeze all this. Then I am going to look up some new recipes while I am off for break. I am going to do Phase I for five days and hopefully my craving will be back under control.

I'm in the same boat...unbelievably busy already, then adding classes in May, will be hard. I've fallen off the Beach just a spell recently, but not too badly. I have my birthday party this Friday, then I'll do a few days of P1 starting on Saturday to get back on track.
