Did I cheat ????? SB Pizza?

I'm not sure if I cheated or not. I know that sounds a bit odd. Basically, Friday night has always been pizza night. My family was very supportive while I was on Phase 1, so we had something else on Friday's. However, now that I am on Phase 2, pizza was requested once again. I picked up a pizza on the way home and popped a South Beach pizza in the oven for myself. It wasn't the best pizza, but it kept me from devouring their pizza! I also treated myself to a glass of red wine with it.

Basically, this is my first week on Phase 1 and I have only added one fruit (barely) and one grain per day. I know that SB pizza is technically a phase 2 and phase 3 item, but should I really have had it the first week on Phase 2??? It just seemed like alot of bread!

Hi

I'm not quite sure of the exact weights since I don't have a box in front of me.

I think it's a great alternative to the traditional pizza & I usually eat it under the same circumstances that you did! Congrats on making the healthy choice!

Thank you (both) for making me feel better. You are right, I resisted a huge temptation for me. Pizza is my absolute favorite food (weakness), and that is way over and above chocolate and bread! I have to admit that when I opened my families pizza, a little voice said "c'mon, one piece won't hurt", but I resisted.

For the record, I did have some veggies prior to eating the pizza. I just neglected to mention it.

Thanks again for the support!

My next hurdle is going out to dinner tonight with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law! My strategy is to start with a salad and then ask for a glass of wine with my meal, and order something that is on the healthy side (they usually have a grilled fish and veggie meal), and no dessert until I get home and can have a fudgsicle! The reason that I mention the wine is because THAT is the struggle at this place. It is one of those places where the servers fill your wine glass for you and you don't even realize they are doing it. So, rather than have a glass of wine with the salad -- that will be never ending -- I won't even ask for it until the meail comes.

Another idea is to make your own pizza for pizza night. Our family also has pizza night on Fridays and I have started making my own using a Boboli ww pizza crust. I was afraid my kids might complain about the crust, but they really like it. Since the crust is pre-made, it is really quick just to top it and stick it in the oven.

Thanks...good idea. Glad to hear from someone who has tried it. I have seen the Boboli WW crust every once in a while at our local market, but wasn't sure how it is.

you may find this dining guide handy, it covers major restaurants across the US, maybe you could have ordered somethign else that was diet friendly.
